![]() The first week and a half has sped by us here in Malawi, but the time we have spent here thus far has been simply amazing. I have never been to a place outside of my home where I have felt so much love and care! The children in this village have inspired me beyond measure to continue to pray and constantly study the word of God. Our arrival was a little thrown off by our luggage not making it onto the plane for our connection from Ethiopia, but as a team we worked together to get through the first couple of days and to make the most out of what we had. Speaking of the love and care previously mentioned, I was blessed to celebrate my birthday here in the village yesterday. From the time I woke up, until I left dinner and went to the cottage for the evening, I was greeted by warm smiles, birthday wishes, and happy birthday songs. There were several gifts of fruit and handmade cards with the most inspiring bible verses and awesome words. Following dinner there was a treat of cupcakes made by the AWESOME Cindy Renner(Our full time Rafiki missionary) and kids. I am truly thankful for her and the hands that helped prepare the treats! I don’t want to be too long so as I wrap up, I would like to say it has been amazing to see the way these children are deeply rooted in Christ and how the mamas and staff are cultivating them into true believers of God’s word. I am looking forward to the rest of our time here with the children and continuing our teaching of God’s word applied to sport.
