The best part of the trip is seeing the MOAM students experience all that the trip has to offer…it’s so encouraging to witness the transformation of their lives within a short three week period and to see them come back to the states with a new fire for the Lord. " ![]() Name: Haley Gardner School: University of Virginia (Women's Basketball) Year: Senior " I am really excited to be able to work with the children of Ghana and serve the Lord. It's my first mission trip that I've ever been on and I believe that this opportunity will teach me so much about what it means to be a servant to the Lord and His people. My experience as a student manager has prepared me for this trip to Ghana because I have learned what it means to be selfless and put someone else above myself. " ![]() Name: Spencer Godine School: University of Virginia (Football) Year: Senior " I think the "short term missionary devotionals" we have read have been my favorite part about preparing for the trip. Recognizing how fortunate I am to live where I do... go to the school that I do... have the family... awesome friends... etc. has made all the difference. I have been super blessed, and recognizing that those blessings are from God has allowed me to put this mission trip into perspective and prepare for Ghana." ![]() Name: Makenzie Dugger School: University of Northern Colorado Year: Senior " I am excited to love on the kids in Ghana for 3 weeks. I know that we will get to help these kids and enjoy playing sports with them but their impact on our lives will be even greater and I can not wait to see what comes from this trip. Working in athletics has allowed me to serve athletes at their best and worst moments and I am excited to bring that experience to Ghana. I lean a lot on having my actions speak louder than my words while working with collegiate athletes to show the love of Christ and I have to trust in God in the midst of the chaos that can come from sport. You never really know what a day will bring when you arrive to the athletic building and I think that will allow me to experience our time in Ghana to the fullest. During our time in Ghana I am excited to expand my faith and allow God to work through me. " ![]() OName: Emily Oldham School: Marshall University (Women's Basketball) Year: Junior "I have never been more excited for an opportunity as special as this one in my life! I am looking forward to becoming closer to God, learning from the kids, and as well as developing a lasting friendship with everyone around me. Being a student manager has prepared me in ways of having patience and having the drive to want to complete any tasks at the best of my ability. " Apply to join a future MOAM Mission Trip!
