Kingdom Messengers - Malawi Update #1 - Kelly Norfleet

Our time in Malawi has been filled with gorgeous sunsets, sweet fellowship, laughs, and fun games with the kids in the village. Every night we visit a different cottage for devotions. One night the passage was from Jeremiah 1 about God calling Jeremiah to spread the Gospel. Jeremiah 1:7-8 read, "But the Lord said to me, 'Do not say, 'I am only a youth'; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord.'" The momma and the girls of the cottage talked about how God can use anyone as messenger of His word, even little kids, and how right now He is using us in Malawi. We should be ready at any time to speak the good news and should not be afraid. God will give us the words to say. It was so incredible to hear and receive this truth from them. They challenged, encouraged, and comforted me with the word of God, as I often struggle with feeling unqualified to share God's Word. Every day the kids bless me with the wisdom they share about our Heavenly Father.

The best way to spread information in the Malawi Rafiki Village is to send out a couple kid messengers and everyone will know in no time. We use this all the time to inform kids about our sports stations. These little messengers remind me how we are called to be messengers for God's Kingdom and how contagious the Gospel message should be. What a witness these kids are for God every day in the village in the truth they speak, the songs they sing, and the way they love and treat others. The Rafiki village itself sits on top of a hill, shining as a bright light of hope to all around. In the midst of many who are starving, it points to Jesus, who is the only water and bread that satisfies. No matter our age, social status, gender, or race we are all called to be messengers of the Gospel. As I am surrounded by some of the girls beautifully singing How Deep The Father's Love For Us, I am so in awe of the wonder and vastness of God's love for us all.

Thanks!
