Uganda Update - James Morrison

Sports are something that I have shared a strong passion for my whole life. Especially when it comes to basketball. It is something that has allowed me to experience a lot of very special moments and continuous learning in many aspects of life. Nothing compares to the last two weeks though.

When I found out I was going on a trip to Uganda with 4 others to share my faith with kids from all ages through experiences in sports and teaching games that I love I couldn’t have been more excited. I didn’t really have any idea what I was getting myself into but I knew it was going to be an experience I’ll never forget. The last two weeks have been just that.

From my first meal of hearing countless riddles told by 6 girls in 7th or 8th grade and not knowing a single answer to them to a bonfire where testimonies were shared by the high schoolers in front of around 50 people... I have been endlessly impressed, thankful and a tremendous amount of growth in many different aspects. Through nightly devotions where I am able to teach a small piece of my understandings and experiences and also sharing endless teachings in sports, these two weeks has been a HUGE slap in the face of how INCREDIBLE our God really is. I’m currently 7,590 miles away from home and seeing God touch these kids who have been through more than I can imagine has shown me so much.
I’m so excited for the week to come and being able to share my experiences when
I get home. I can’t thank Managers on a Mission enough!
