With a week under my belt, life in Zambia has been quite the experience. Engaging with those within the Rafiki Zambia village has allowed me to understand what all goes on here. It is heart warming to see the village come together for meals, permitting a time to commune and fellowship with one another. By their gratitude of some of the simplest things I have been reminded of Matthew 6:26-34. The way the birds of the sky and the flowers of the ground fret not for ways they will sustain and protect themselves, reminds me of the people of Rafiki. Through their unwavering devotion to the Lord and thorough commitment to him, their needs and wants have appeared very little. This forced me to put my own life “troubles” and worries into perspective, therefore examining my true level of trust in God. It is important for us to remember that God knows about our situation better than we do. Whatever we are experiencing in life is by his will, thus our trust in him should be mighty.
