Ghana Update - Prince Johnson

It is a blessing and privilege to serve 100-orphaned children at Rafiki Village in Ghana with my Managers On A Mission teammates from Universities from across the United States. While I have been here, I have read the book of John. A verse that really stood out to me was John 15:7,
“But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted.”

This verse speaks to me because; it encourages me to stay close to God so that His word will remain to me. However, I do not believe it is literally saying that God will grant me all of my wishes in a magical way. For instance, I cannot solve all the problems just by praying. I have witnessed many problems here in Africa such as flooded streets, the slums, and the great amount of pollution. These problems will not end overnight even with my prayers. However, I do believe that by staying close to Christ that I can be a part of His solution for Africa. God’s word is in my heart, it is a joy to use my giftedness in sports to help train these children physically and spiritually. God’s word is alive in me. I am thrilled to be doing my part to bring God’s love to this village one child at a time. I am certain that God wants the best for the orphans and for me too.

During my time here in Ghana, I am praying for God to speak in my life. In my time here, God has shown me love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. I have learned a lot during the last three weeks. I have taught over twelve devotions regarding to three topics. (Patients, Excellence, and Purpose). I give praise to God because he is answering my prayers to help me become more committed as a disciple of Jesus.
