During a transition between their support staff, the football student equipment managers stepped up to run the equipment room. They ran the day to day operations for the equipment room with the oversight from the Director of Operations. The equipment room never missed a beat while they were without an Equipment Director because of the work the students managers did.

With the return of the UAB team, Gage Whitten, Ryne Nicholson, hit the ground running to ensure a smooth transition back. With a late transition, both Whitten, Nicholson, and their support staff helped around the clock to make sure their football staff was equipped to return to the field.

As they await their new indoor practice facility, the equipment staff made certain practice went on flawlessly no matter where they had to practice throughout hurricane season .
