Shannon O'Hair - Manager of the Year

Name: Shannon O'Hair
School: University of Nevada, Reno
Program: Football
Why Shannon deserves this award:
"Shannon has exemplified what a student equipment manager is all about. She comes in everyday with this infectious positive attitude each and every day not matter what. Every person in our athletics department knows her or knows of her because of her great positive attitude. The respect she gets and deserves from everyone is a true testament to her character and work ethic. Her shear passion and desire to continue on with athletic equipment management as a career sets her apart from many other people in our industry. She doesn't let anything get in her way no matter how hard or how demanding a task is. She thrives on pressure and works with meticulous detail. Standing at 5 foot nothing she carries a work load larger than anyone else and never lets that get in her way. She works two jobs and excels in the classroom as well. Her upbringing and background have really formed her into a mature adult at her young age. She has inspired many of us here at the University of Nevada, Reno and will continue to as long as she is in this field. She is the student everyone dreams of having in their equipment room as a student equipment manager and we sure are glad she is with our staff. In order to exemplify everything she stands for and is worth would take a novel. She is more than deserving of the honor of student manager of the year and she would wear this honor proudly and humbly. " - Andrew Stern, Assistant Equipment Manager
